TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik was revitalized with a singular mission: to restore and preserve some of the most revered vintage tube microphones ever produced. The company’s modern origins began in 2000 with the reverse engineering of a replacement polar pattern selector switch for an original ELA M 251E—an effort that ultimately led to the revival of the historic TELEFUNKEN name and Diamond logo in North America.

Following the successful recreation of the 251E to original specifications, TELEFUNKEN expanded its offerings to include historically accurate reproductions of the C12 and U47, forming what is now known as the Diamond Series. These microphones are built with meticulous attention to original documentation, circuit topology, and sonic character, maintaining the legacy of classic European tube microphone design.

In addition to faithful recreations, TELEFUNKEN has developed modern production lines that blend vintage-inspired engineering with contemporary manufacturing standards, supporting both studio recording and high-end live applications.
